Therapies for Kids is seeking two dynamic Allied Health Assistants to join our Riverina team in Narrandera, NSW. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Speech Pathologists and Dietitians as part of a Multi-disciplinary Paediatric Healthcare team.

The role:

  • Work under the supervision of an Allied Health Professional to assist in the provision of high quality services to our paediatric clients and their families; including the use of telehealth resources to deliver individualised programs.
  • Provide clinical and administrative services as directed by the Allied Health Professional to clients and their families
  • Assist in maintaining a high standard of cleanliness within the clinic
  • Motivate and encourage clients to participate in therapy programs through respectful therapeutic communication and engagement strategies
  • Work with a range of children that have varying needs, with a large portion of our caseload comprising of children with a disability

Essential requirements:

  • Demonstrated competency with common computer user software systems including Telehealth resources
  • Demonstrated excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and cooperatively in a team environment with the ability to liaise with other health professionals to ensure seamless continuity of care
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritise workload, meet deadlines and complete activities (including ability to work within scope of practice and seek assistance as required)
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of work health and safety legislation and patient privacy and confidentiality requirements
  • Flexible work hours between 8.30am – 6pm
  • Current NSW driver’s licence (P2 acceptable)
  • Working With Children’s Check
  • NDIS Workers Check
  • COVID-19 vaccination

The ideal candidate has…

  • Experience as an allied health assistant or working in a health related setting is preferred but not required
  • Successful completion of Certificate III or Certificate IV Allied Health Assistant is preferred but not required
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development
  • Previous experience working with children is an advantage
  • Excellent customer service skills and a friendly personality
  • The ability to multi-task in a busy environment and within a team
  • Candidates who are familiar with NDIS, EFTPOS, HiCaps and EPC systems will be at a definite advantage
