Melissa has been working as a Speech Pathologist for over 11 years and holds a Masters of Speech and Language Pathology from the University of Sydney. Melissa has experience working across a variety of speech therapy settings including within community health, the disability not-for-profit sector, and disability within private health.
In 2010 she started working in a community health setting within clinics across the greater western Sydney area, providing intervention to
children with speech, language, fluency (stuttering), and feeding difficulties. Melissa then moved to London for 4 years, working for the National Health Service (public health service) and further developed her skills and training within the area of early intervention and Autism. Upon returning to Sydney, Melissa sought out a role in which she could continue working within the field of early intervention and disability and eventually found her ideal position at Therapies for Kids.
Melissa is determined to support and develop a child’s communication skills so that they can learn, engage and actively participate within their communities. She wholeheartedly supports Therapies for Kids values and intervention approaches as she believes this contributes to the best outcomes for children and their families.
