The Benefits of Early Childhood Intervention
At Therapies For Kids we provide services to children aged 0 – 9 years who are living with developmental delays or disability. This can support a child with a delay in just one area or across more areas of development.
Early Childhood Intervention is the provision of specialised support services for children and their families. Our therapists not only support your child through coaching, we upskill, educated and empower parents and carers to best meet their child’s needs. Early intervention has been shown to assist children who are at risk of not meeting developmental milestones.
Because of the above, there is a government program known as the NDIS Early Childhood Approach. We work within this framework and can support you with access if appropriate.
What you might see in the early years include:
- Crawling / walking delays
- First words / articulation delays
- Fine motor and play skill delays
In early school years (Kindy – Year 3):
- Speech delays
- Language / literacy delays
- Social skills delays
- Handwriting / cognition delays
- Fitness / gross motor skills delays
