Therapy Fee Structure

Therapies for Kids is a registered NDIS Service Provider.  For NDIS clients, all our fees are set in accordance with the NDIS Pricing Arrangements and pricing limits. Prices are correct as of 1 July 2025. All prices are not subject to GST unless otherwise stated. Fees are subject to review at any time and may change in line with NDIS recommendations.

Non-NDIS

We offer three levels of initial assessment options, depending on your child’s needs:

All assessments include essential non face-to-face time for:

For non-NDIS clients, appointments are charged at an hourly rate of $210 across all therapy services, inclusive of non-face to face supports.

In addition to face-to-face and telehealth appointments, Therapies for Kids offers comprehensive, evidence-based services that include non face-to-face supports. These are an important part of delivering quality care and are consistent with the recommendations of the professional bodies and industry regulators.

Non face-to-face services are tailored to each client’s needs and may include:

  1. Written feedback and home programs
  2. Communication with participants, families, carers, educators and other professionals
  3. Completion of required paperwork and written collaboration with members of the Therapies for Kids transdisciplinary team
  4. Creation of customised therapy resources to support your child’s goals
  5. sending out emails and making phone calls

Follow-up appointments and non face-to-face services are charged at the hourly rate of $210 for all therapies.

NDIS

Initial Assessments at Therapies for Kids are comprehensive and tailored to your child’s unique needs. Costs vary depending on the complexity of the assessment and are charged at the standard hourly rate.

For NDIS participants, the initial assessment typically includes 2 x 1-hour face-to-face sessions.

This also includes non face-to-face time for:

Each session is charged at the current NDIS hourly rate for the relevant discipline — including Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Exercise Physiology, Speech Pathology, Music Therapy, and Allied Health Assistance. Sessions typically run for 45 to 50 minutes, with an additional 20 minutes allocated for non face-to-face time. This covers preparation, documentation, and post-session cleaning to ensure high-quality, personalised care.

In addition to face-to-face and Telehealth services, Therapies for Kids provides a range of non face-to-face supports as part of our comprehensive, evidence-based care.

These supports align with the NDIS Practice Standards and Quality Indicators for registered NDIS providers.

Non face-to-face services are tailored to each client’s needs and may include:

Intensive Therapy Block pricing is based on the number of days and hours your child attends. Typically, Intensives run for 2 to 4 hours per day over a 3-week period and include a combination of therapy disciplines tailored to your child’s needs. An additional planning charge may apply for the development of your child’s program—this includes one hour per therapist involved, billed at the NDIS hourly rate for each discipline. All charges include non face-to-face time such as preparation and documentation.

Intensive Therapy is a highly individualised, high-value service that requires careful planning and coordination. To secure your child’s place in the program, a $1000 deposit is required at the time of booking.

If you require a written report at the conclusion of the program, this can be provided at an additional cost and will be charged at the standard NDIS hourly rate.

A Functional Capacity Assessment (FCA) is most commonly conducted by an Occupational Therapist to evaluate an individual’s ability to perform everyday tasks across the following domains:

The assessment typically takes around 2 hours and may include interviews, observations, and the use of both standardised and non-standardised tools. Additional assessment time may be required if online access is limited for the participant or caregiver.

Following the assessment, a comprehensive report is prepared. Report writing is charged at a minimum of 6–8 hours, depending on complexity.

FCAs are often required to help determine support needs and inform NDIS funding decisions. To proceed with an FCA at Therapies for Kids, we recommend ensuring that a minimum of 10 hours is allocated in the participant’s NDIS plan.

Other

Following the two initial assessment sessions, NDIS participants will attend a dedicated goal-setting meeting with their therapist. During this session, you will:

Goal setting is a vital part of all Allied Health services. It provides structure and focus for therapists, families, and clients to work together toward meaningful progress across key areas — fun, function, friends, family, fitness, and future. Through collaborative, transdisciplinary goal planning, we ensure therapy remains child-centred, personalised, and functional.

In addition to the initial goal-setting meeting, NDIS encourages regular reviews of goals and support plans. These reviews, which are important for funding outcomes and must align with your broader NDIS goals, occur at least twice a year. They are billed separately at the standard NDIS hourly rate for each Allied Health discipline and are additional to regular therapy sessions.

Allied Health Assistants (AHAs) are trained workers who operate under the supervision or delegation of an Allied Health Professional.

At Therapies for Kids, we utilise AHAs to maximise the benefits of your child’s therapy journey.

We have two levels of AHAs at TFK:
 • Level 1 AHA
 • Level 2 AHA

Level 1 AHA:

This is an assistant who will be in your session with your therapist to provide additional support if required for your child. This is especially helpful in Physiotherapy, exercise physiology, DMIT and harness sessions. Often it requires two people to safely lift or support your child.

Level 2 AHA:

At TFK, our Level 2 AHAs:

  • Implement therapy plans and provide ongoing care to clients.

  • This enables children to access supports that may otherwise be unavailable due to:
     • Distance (e.g. inability to see a therapist in person, or no access to staff or telehealth therapists)
     • Financial constraints

  • The AHA will collaborate and liaise with the therapist to implement the therapy plan.
→ This plan will be reviewed regularly.

  • AHAs may also develop individualised resources for clients as prescribed by the therapist.

Travel will be limited to essential services only. Travel fees are charged at the standard hourly therapy rate. For NDIS participants, travel is charged at 50% of the hourly rate, in line with the NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits (PAPL).

At Therapies for Kids, we understand that unexpected circumstances can arise. However, to ensure fairness and maintain the continuity of care for all clients, our cancellation policy is as follows:

Short Notice Cancellations

Therapies for Kids charges 100% of the agreed session fee for any appointment cancelled with insufficient notice. This policy is outlined in your Service Agreement and is stated in our terms and conditions of service. A cancellation is considered short notice if:

Payment Terms

Payment is required on the date of delivery of service. Privately paying clients and NDIS self-managed participants must pay at the conclusion of each therapy session. For plan-managed and NDIA-managed participants, invoices will be submitted on the day the service is delivered. If a claim remains unpaid after seven (7) days, future appointments may be placed on hold until payment is received.

NDIS participants are responsible for monitoring their available funding and notifying us of any changes. If services continue without available funds and no notice has been provided, the participant or their guardian will be responsible for any outstanding fees.
