Introducing our Young Adult therapy services
Our Young Adult therapy services support individuals as they move beyond childhood and begin building greater independence, confidence and participation in everyday life.
We provide practical, goal-focused therapy to support daily living skills, communication, movement, community participation and future pathways.
Supporting the Transition to Adulthood
As young people move into adolescence and adulthood, their goals often begin to change. The focus may shift from early developmental milestones toward independence, confidence, communication, social participation and practical life skills.
At Therapies for Kids, our Young Adult services are designed to support this transition with therapy that is structured, meaningful and relevant to everyday life.
Our approach focuses on helping young adults build skills that support participation at home, in the community, in education, and in future adult pathways.

Our Young Adult Therapy Services
Young adults may access support through individual therapy, with group-based opportunities introduced where suitable.
Individual Therapy 1:1 Support

Sessions are tailored to the individual and shaped around practical goals that support independence, confidence and participation in everyday life.
Services may include:
- Occupational Therapy
- Physiotherapy

These sessions may support goals across home, education, community and daily environments, depending on the individual’s needs.
Group Based Support
Group-based supports are being developed as part of our Young Adult service offering and will be designed carefully around participant goals, readiness and suitability.
Rather than offering one generic group model, our group-based supports will focus on practical areas of need and meaningful participation.
Planned group types may include:
-
Social communication groups
Supporting conversation skills, peer interaction, social confidence and communication in group settings. -
Community independence programs
Practising everyday skills in real environments such as shops, cafés and public spaces. -
Life skills programs
Building practical skills related to routines, organisation, planning and daily living. -
Movement and fitness groups
Supporting strength, coordination, mobility and physical confidence through structured activities.
Group-based supports will be introduced thoughtfully and are intended to complement, rather than replace, individual therapy where needed.
